The Opportunity:
Adecco is partnering with an established organisation in the environmental and essential-services sector to hire an Fleet Operations Manager.
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for managing drivers and operational employees, monitoring commercial vehicles and ensuring scheduled services are completed safely and on time.
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Location: West Region
Working Hours: 5.5 days; Monday to Friday, 8:30am-5:30pm; Saturday, 8:30am-1pm
Salary Package: Up to $6,000 + AWS + Variable Bonus
The Job:
Oversee daily depot and field operations to ensure smooth and timely service delivery.
Manage drivers and operational staff, including scheduling, attendance and performance.
Plan daily vehicle, manpower and work allocation based on customer requirements.
Oversee fleet utilisation, maintenance, inspections and breakdown recovery.
Ensure operational equipment and depot facilities are properly maintained.
Resolve service delays, site issues and customer escalations promptly.
Monitor operational KPIs and identify opportunities to improve productivity.
Ensure compliance with company procedures, safety and service-quality standards.
Support ground operations when necessary and implement improvements to productivity and service quality.
The Talent:
At least 5-8 years of relevant operations experience.
Experience in environmental services, waste management or a fleet-based industry.
Strong experience managing drivers, frontline staff and commercial vehicles.
Familiar with transport scheduling, fleet maintenance and manpower planning.
Able to manage vehicle breakdowns and urgent operational issues effectively.
Strong leadership, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Hands-on, independent and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Good communication and stakeholder-management skills.
