Assistant Customer Service/Operation Manager (Sea Operation)
Location : Bukit Merah (Few bus stops from Tiong Bahru MRT)
Working hours : 5 days (Monday-Friday office hours)
Salary (commensurate with experience): Up to $7500 + AWS +Bonus + Mobile + 14 days Annual leave

Responsibilities
Manage and facilitate sea export, sea import, warehousing, trucking activities, and resolve operational issues.
Lead and supervise the Ocean operation team to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
Implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and service quality.
Develop and maintain relationships with shipping lines, port operators, and other key stakeholders.
Negotiate pricing, services, and terms with approved vendors and co-loaders to maximize monthly Ocean GP.
Monitor pre-alert documents from origin offices or sales support (sea import only).
Ensure compliance with customs requirements, import and export procedures, and all international trade and shipping regulations.
Track and monitor vessel arrivals/departures and update customers about any deviations.
Participate in existing and new RFQ or any bidding projects as needed.
Source rates from service providers as per sales/customer inquiries.
Coordinate with business partners on sales leads from origin or destination.
Handle customer inquiries timely and effectively, providing comprehensive solutions for their shipment needs.
Interface with multiple parties, including customers, warehouses, carriers, and customs, regarding shipment requirements.
Support Ocean Business Development and Trade Lane Management.
Prepare invoices for customers and verify subcontractor invoices.
Ensure compliance with customer Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
Prepare and update SOPs for internal use.
Prepare reports for customers and analyses on department performance for upper management.
Execute all other ad-hoc instructions from the Managing Director.
Requirements:
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 8 years experience in sea operations within the freight forwarding industry.
Strong understanding of sea export, sea import, warehousing, and trucking operations.
In-depth knowledge of customs requirements, import and export procedures, and international trade regulations.
Proficiency in tracking and monitoring vessel movements.
Bilingual in English and Mandarin to liaise with Mandarin speaking associates in view of business communications
